What is a website?

A website, portal or website is a collection of web pages related to and common to an Internet domain or subdomain on the World Wide Web within the Internet.

All publicly accessible websites constitute a gigantic World Wide Web (WWW) of information; and a gigantic network of global resources.

The pages of a website are frequently accessed through a common root URL called a cover, which usually resides on the same physical server. URLs organize pages in a hierarchy, although hyperlinks between them control more particularly how the reader perceives the overall structure and how web traffic flows between different parts of the sites.
